  • I can't wrap my head around this. It's difficult for me to take sides here. I'm conflicted on how I should feel about this. On one hand, I'm proud about China's accomplishments with the fact that I am Chinese, so it's hard for me to not feel somehow connected to this event.

  • Well it seems that Muslims around the world have sought freedom from just about every country. This story shows that it is not just an American issue. Of course, Muslims have a really good reason to hate capitalists and profiteers of the Cold War.

  • There has been some news about AIDS awareness recently. This last week, President Bush signed the largest donation for AIDS treatment with bipartisan support. The US government also announced that US HIV rates were higher than previously estimated.

  • The Olympics became an obvious way for China to be more internationally reputable. It is an event to show that China is able to sustain its position of government without compromising core values. I guess limiting human rights is a core value, that is the basis of authoritarianism after all.

  • Isn't Senator Obama alienating many Democrats who are strongly against taking such measures? This is, in my view, a sway away from the liberal front, the environmental consensus, and general values for the sake of saving cents on the gallon.

  • I'm starting to get tired of the government's one-at-a-time investigations. This is the reason why justice is served so slowly in this country. This is the reason why thousands get sick from a salmonella outbreak.
